Farella CapriCommercial Projects
Capri 2018
A Story Rooted in Family and Capri
The Farella project is born from deep family ties and a shared Caprese heritage. Francesco Della Femina, maternal cousin of the Farella sisters, was involved from the very beginning in shaping the boutique on Via Fuorlovado. This space reflects the island’s soul, blending family tradition, creativity, and artisanal quality. Whitewashed arches, simple volumes, and thoughtful details highlight the brand’s luxurious knitwear. Over the years, the collaboration between designer and brand has evolved into a continuous dialogue—a living story of style, memory, and mutual respect.
Essential Architecture and a Feminine Touch
Farella’s boutique combines traditional Caprese architecture with modern warmth. The bespoke wrought-iron arched window draws you into an interior defined by white walls and soft light. The wooden floor, an unusual choice for Capri, adds a sense of comfort and intimacy. A large perimeter shelf, appearing solid but concealing lighting and functional systems, showcases the knitwear in clean, quiet elegance. Every choice serves both beauty and practicality, creating a timeless space where femininity and design meet in perfect harmony.
The 2018 Restyling: Art and Function in Balance
In 2018, Francesco Della Femina reimagined the boutique with striking, bespoke design pieces. The iron Spider table at the center anchors the space; the sculptural Cubing chandelier adds drama and rhythm; minimalist iron stands and ceramic stools offer elegant display solutions. Each element is carefully crafted to enhance the boutique’s identity without overpowering it. The result is a space where design elevates fashion, and every detail contributes to an atmosphere of sophistication and quiet theatricality.
Capri Capsule Collection: From Pattern to Fabric
A unique collaboration was born in 2018: the Capri Capsule Collection, designed by Francesco Della Femina and crafted by the Farella atelier. Original patterns from the designer’s studio were transformed into wearable knits. The standout design, “Fontelina,” draws inspiration from the iconic blue and white umbrellas of the famed Caprese beach. A visual tribute to the island, it evokes summer, nostalgia, and elegant simplicity. Presented during a vibrant vernissage, the collection was a one-time success—never replicated, but always remembered.
Signature Objects and Meaningful Details
At Farella, no detail is overlooked. Each element in the space tells a quiet story—iron-framed boards for displaying swatches, sculptural lighting like the Aztec candelabra or Tipsy tray, and custom nesting tables from the Zumm Zum Zu series. All are designed by Francesco Della Femina and crafted to support the boutique’s refined narrative. The design doesn’t steal the spotlight—it enhances it, letting Farella’s luxurious knitwear take center stage. It’s a world of subtle sophistication, where design becomes the language of elegance.
