A Countercurrent Project
During the 2020 pandemic, Francesco Della Femina turned a forgotten wine cellar at Capri Palace into a refined, intimate restaurant: L’Olivo Undiscovered. Created under lockdown and tight restrictions, this pop-up concept offered only six seats but an unforgettable atmosphere. Despite supply limits and time pressure, Della Femina embraced the challenge, crafting a space that felt both theatrical and deeply Caprese. Born as a temporary solution, the project turned into an enduring memory of beauty in adversity.
Zero-Kilometer Design
With sharp insight, Francesco Della Femina opted for a zero-kilometer approach: local materials, custom-made furniture crafted by Neapolitan artisans, and on-site labor. This not only ensured deadlines were met but gave the project authenticity and a deep connection to place. L’Olivo Undiscovered became a refined tribute to craftsmanship and creative resilience, a dining experience rooted in its island heritage.
A Theatrical Cellar
The former cellar becomes a stage. With brass tables, gold chandeliers shaped like olive leaves, and linen curtains that draw back like theater drapes, every detail by Della Femina transforms the space into an immersive experience. A baby grand piano sets the tone, joined by candlelight and fine wines. At L’Olivo Undiscovered, hospitality becomes art, an intimate performance of taste and style.
Silent Luxury
No excess, no showiness. The luxury of L’Olivo Undiscovered lies in whispered details: a William Morris wallpaper, crystal lanterns, bergère chairs, and a wall panel echoing Pompeian frescoes. Every element contributes to a timeless setting, designed to elevate the Michelin-starred cuisine of Andrea Migliaccio and create an unforgettable moment of beauty and refinement.
A Hidden Gem
Originally conceived as a temporary solution, L’Olivo Undiscovered became a timeless treasure. Francesco Della Femina’s design crafted a precious, intimate space that reflected the spirit of the Capri Palace in a wholly new way. For those lucky enough to experience it, the memory of such a unique experience will be indelible, a dinner in a secret space where everything was intentional and nothing left to chance.
